Routine

Review your trades every week

A useful review starts with checking data, then compares decisions with the trading plan. It ends with a measurable action for the next period. A winning trade is not necessarily well executed, and a loss is not necessarily a mistake.

Check data before drawing conclusions

Check the period, accounts, currencies, incomplete imports and missing costs. Keep a consistent scope each week. Record the number of closed trades with known results to establish sample size.

Reconstruct the decision

For each reviewed trade, revisit the context, entry scenario, planned risk, invalidation conditions and exit. Add a useful screenshot and factual note. Avoid rewriting the plan after seeing the outcome.

Separate process and outcome

Assess adherence to the plan independently of P&L. A disciplined exit may produce a normal loss; unplanned risk may produce a gain. This distinction avoids reinforcing a bad habit merely because it was rewarded once.

Choose one verifiable action

For example, document the invalidation level before every new entry next week. At the following review, count documented trades rather than judging only financial results.

Frequently asked questions

Which trades should I review first?

Start with deviations from the plan, large losses, poorly documented trades and a sample of ordinary trades. Do not study only the best outcomes.
